Spring Break at RTC brings laughter and fun
You couldn’t walk through the halls of RTC without hearing laughter and joy ringing out during Spring Break Week. What a fun week filled with meaningful opportunities, excitement, and shared adventures for both staff and the individuals we support.
Our dedicated Support Specialists transformed everyday programming into an experience bursting with energy and creativity. From beach-themed games and interactive inflatables to colorful photo opportunities, every detail was designed to encourage participation, connection, and fun. Those daily vacation drinks were a hit too. The staff’s enthusiasm created an atmosphere where smiles came easily and everyone felt included in the celebration.
While the week was filled with laughter, the impact reached far beyond the fun. Experiences like these help build friendships, encourage social engagement, and support emotional well-being. They create moments of confidence, belonging, and joy that leave lasting impressions.
Spring Break Week was also a wonderful reminder of what makes RTC so special; the caring staff who go above and beyond to create meaningful experiences and a community that believes every person deserves opportunities to thrive.

Seeking Volunteers and Donors
At RTC, we believe every person deserves the opportunity to live with purpose, connection, and independence. Our mission is to provide services that promote employment, community involvement, and greater independence for individuals with disabilities, and every day we are blessed to see the life-changing impact of that work.
We care about those we serve. Employment Services helps people find meaningful jobs in the community while providing on-the-job coaching when needed. The Day Programs focus on building life skills, peer relationships, and community interaction, Our Community Engagement Programs encourage friendship, confidence, and social connection through volunteer opportunities and recreational outings. We also offer Transportation Services to help individuals access work, programs, and opportunities throughout the community.
As RTC continues to grow, so does our need for caring community members who want to make a difference. Volunteers are needed to assist with programs, special events, outings, and by sharing hobbies or talents such as crafting, music, gardening, fitness, and more. Whether you can give a few hours or become regularly involved, your time can have a lasting impact.
Holly wanted to learn to sew with a machine for quite a while. A volunteer graciously spent an afternoon with Holly teaching her basic sewing skills. This was such a joy for her, she got to make an OSU blanket, her favorite team.
Community support also helps make meaningful experiences possible for those we serve. Gifts of any size can enhance programs, create new opportunities, and provide resources that enrich lives every day.

Morgan Huffer is April’s Star of the Month.
Morgan comes to the Studio three days a week. She enjoys creating artwork from start to finish with little help from staff. She keeps busy using the loom, painting pictures, doing puzzles, and utilizing the new art projector to trace and create her own pictures to paint. She goes to pottery with a few of her peers and creates many amazing pieces. Her artwork was showcased at the RTC Talent Show. Morgan has been working at 600 Downtown for 4 years. Morgan has a quiet demeanor and is always smiling and very helpful to her peers, especially when it comes to assisting with art projects. Morgan also participates in Special Olympics bowling and basketball. She is a friend to everyone she meets.
Elvis was in the building!
You could feel the excitement the moment guests arrived at the Holland Theatre as Elvis took the stage for a special afternoon with RTC clients, staff, and guests. From the first song to the final encore, the theatre was filled with energy, laughter, and unforgettable joy.
The performance was nothing short of incredible. Smiles spread across every row as audience members sang along, clapped to the music, and—best of all—hit the dance floor. No matter where you looked, you could see the glow of happiness on the faces of those enjoying this memorable experience.
Elvis made the day even more special by taking time after the show to meet with everyone who wanted a photo and autograph. For 45 minutes, he graciously greeted guests, creating personal moments that meant so much to so many. Several lucky audience members also went home with one of his signature scarves as a treasured souvenir.
Events like these create more than entertainment, they create connection, excitement, and lasting memories for the individuals we serve. It was a day that reminded everyone in attendance how powerful shared joy can be.
RTC extends heartfelt thanks to the Bellefontaine Masonic Lodge and the Holland Theatre for making this wonderful event possible. Their generosity helped create a truly special day that will be remembered for years to come.
April Champion: Brenda Nance
RTC is proud to recognize Brenda Nance as our April Champion.
For the past five years, Brenda has been a valued member of the RTC transportation team, helping ensure the individuals we serve arrive safely while bringing kindness and positivity to each day. Brenda’s warm personality and friendly spirit make every route brighter for clients.
One of the things Brenda enjoys most about her role is the variety of people she meets and the different places she gets to go. She values the relationships she has built with both the clients she transports and the coworkers she works alongside each day.
Outside of work, Brenda enjoys spending time with her family, which includes one daughter and two grandchildren. In her free time, she also loves horses, fishing, and reading the Bible.
Brenda’s dedication, compassion, and welcoming nature reflect the heart of RTC’s mission. We are grateful for the care she shows every day and proud to celebrate her as our April Champion.
