Mark Stanley Achieves His Dream of Homeownership: A New Chapter of Independence

It’s an exciting time for Mark Stanley, a 44-year-old RTC client employed in production, as he acquires the skills necessary for community employment while simultaneously earning a paycheck.

He has just achieved a milestone he’s been working toward for years: purchasing his own home! Mark has always dreamed of independence, and now, thanks to his hard work and perseverance, he’s turned that dream into a reality.

Mark has long been a part of the RTC Production team, where he’s demonstrated dedication, responsibility, and a strong work ethic. His journey to homeownership wasn’t easy, but Mark’s determination to gain independence has paid off. “I’m so excited to have my own place,” Mark said with a huge smile. “I have the independence I’ve always wanted!”

The new chapter of Mark’s life has come with some fantastic surprises—his new neighbors. “They’re so helpful and kind,” Mark shared. “I feel really welcome here.”

Mark’s dream of homeownership is not just a personal achievement; it symbolizes his ongoing progress toward a future filled with even more possibilities. It’s a clear example of how hard work, patience, and a positive mindset can lead to independence and self-sufficiency.

Looking ahead, Mark is already setting his sights on the next big goal: owning his own business. “That’s what I want to do next,” he said, with a glint of determination in his eyes. “I know it’s going to take time, but I’m ready to start working for it.”

Mark Stanley’s journey is a powerful reminder that dreams are achievable with perseverance and support from those around us. As Mark settles into his new home and continues to work toward his next big goal, we all wish him the best of luck on this incredible journey of independence.

Big news! RTC was honored at the United Way of Logan County breakfast with a Double Gold Award!  This prestigious recognition is given to businesses that achieve more than 60% staff participation and $200 or more as an average employee gift.

A huge thank you to our incredible RTC team for their generosity and support! Together, we helped bring the United Way total to over $1 MILLION for 2025.  Your kindness makes a difference in our community!

The RISE team took on the game room challenge at Decode Zone escape room and escaped with nearly 10 minutes to spare! The owners were so impressed by their skills and the speed that they completed the challenge!

It was an epic experience filled with teamwork, puzzles, and plenty of laughs. Huge shoutout to Decode Zone for such an exciting and fun time! The day concluded with delicious Mexican food at the Flying Pepper, followed by some shopping at the Nest.

Congratulations to our amazingly talented Quinten James, for earning the Highest Bid award for his involvement in this year’s Not So Bad Art By Good People fundraiser! A spirited bidding competition took place between Holland board members Jason Vogel—who emerged as the winner—and Kris Swisher, resulting in $900 raised for the Logan County Art League. Quinten “Q” is a support specialist in Pos+Abilities, but he shares his numerous talents with all of our clients and staff! Congratulations Q on your well-deserved award!

Partnerships matter

We are so pleased to be partnering with Richwood Bank once again for their Guest Barista program. This time you can have your coffee made by Executive Director Tonya Reed and the always fun Taylor Young. Taylor is a production associate at Industries. Join them from 9 am to 11 am on March 20 for great coffee, and plenty of fun. And remember all funds that day go to RTC Services.  See you March 20!

Pos+Abilities Jobs Skills Training Program has arrived!

Pos+Abilities boasts a diverse mix of personalities and abilities, prompting us to explore a variety of new programming to engage everyone at their level. One of our most exciting initiatives is the launch of the Job Skills Training Program. Somer Sherman, a job coach from the Employment Services Department, collaborated with the direct care team at Pos+Abilities to develop a comprehensive training series that will span several months. This program will cover essential skills for applying, interviewing, and maintaining employment. Each participant will attend these sessions and, upon completing each level, will receive a certificate of achievement to keep in a designated employment binder.

As parents and loved ones, you can expect to receive information about each course level as we delve into important subjects such as hygiene, workplace social interactions, and effectively answering interview questions.

With this new programming, alongside volunteering opportunities at GRACE, Meals on Wheels, community shopping days, and cooking sessions, we aim to provide engaging experiences that foster both enjoyment and personal growth for everyone involved.

The Weaving Room is back!

After a few years hiatus, the Weaving Room has made a comeback at RTC, and it’s a hit! Clients are thrilled to rekindle their passion for weaving products to share. There’s a sign-up process, and it’s nearly always at capacity. Stay tuned to see some amazing completed work!
