Celebrating Our DSPs: Servant Hearts in Action

At RTC, we are deeply blessed with Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who embody the heart of service over self. Each day, they show up with patience, compassion, and kindness; seeing each client not through the lens of disability, but for the unique person they are. Their dedication makes an immeasurable difference in the lives of those we serve.

Our DSPs work tirelessly to create experiences that fit each individual client. From everyday activities like playing cards, crafting, creating art, and working on educational goals, to bigger experiences such as field trips, our DSPs ensure every moment counts. There are impromptu dance parties, because who doesn’t love to dance with joy? Our DSP’s even join in on the hobbies their clients love, one DSP regularly plays video games because that’s how he connects best with a client who finds joy in gaming. Weekly cooking activities are another favorite, giving clients both fun and practical skills they can use for life.

RTC’s Pos+Abilities program builds on this by helping clients set personal goals to gain greater independence. Cooking, laundry, and running the snack shop are just a few of the ways they learn confidence and responsibility. All of our groups also take part in monthly cooking activities, and many volunteer in the community, sharing their gifts while learning new skills. Every effort is designed to help clients thrive and to celebrate their strengths.

Take Jeremy, for example: on his birthday, Kaylie and Jenn put on a playful “WWE-style” wrestling match. It may look like just a fun moment, but it is actually a heartfelt celebration of Jeremy’s love for wrestling, designed to make his day truly special.

This spirit of care is lived out daily. In every room, at the end of every day, conversations center around what went well and how to better meet each client’s needs tomorrow. Emergencies are no exception, our DSPs are so well trained that they respond with confidence and calm, even when the situation is critical.

Recently, Jenn exemplified this commitment when a client experienced a medical emergency. Without hesitation, she stayed by his side until emergency responders arrived, then followed him to the hospital to ensure he received proper care. It was well after 8 p.m. when she finally made it home. A long day for anyone, but for Jenn, it was simply part of living out her calling: I just want what’s best for them,” she said. And she truly means it.

Kaylie echoes this heart, sharing: I am blessed to support and inspire them. But they also inspire me with their resilience, strength, and spirit. I learn from their strength as I encourage them.

A company is only as strong as its people. At RTC, we are proud to say we have the very best, men and women with servant hearts who are changing the world one client at a time.

September Champion, Rebekah Heath

We’re proud to recognize Rebekah Heath, Support Specialist in Pos+Abilities, as this month’s RTC Champion!

Rebekah brings an incredible amount of gentleness, patience, and compassion to her work each and every day. She truly embodies the heart of RTC Services, caring deeply for the individuals we serve and supporting her co-workers with kindness and grace.

Her love for gardening has blossomed into something wonderful at RTC. Partnering with Quinten, Rebekah helped create a large garden for the Pos+Abilities group to sow, cultivate, and harvest. The vegetables and herbs grown there are now being used for canning projects and meals, a beautiful example of teamwork and growth in action!

Outside of work, Rebekah enjoys dancing, caring for farm animals, yard work, campfires, 4-wheeler rides, and spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors. She says her faith in Jesus guides her each dayand that “being Aunt Bekah is the best thing ever.”

Rebekah’s warmth, creativity, and servant heart make her a true blessing to RTC Services. We’re so grateful for all she does to make our community brighter, kinder, and more connected.

Sharing Stories, Sharing Smiles

At RTC Services, we love seeing the many ways our clients connect, support, and bring joy to one another. One of the sweetest examples lately has been the simple act of reading together.

Several of our young people have discovered how meaningful it can be to share a story with a friend. Kelli enjoys reading to Kyle, and Mary Kate loves reading to Whitney. Whether it’s a favorite storybook, a funny passage, or something new to explore, these shared moments always bring plenty of smiles.

Reading together offers something special for everyone involved. For the reader, it’s a chance to build confidence, practice expression, and share something they enjoy. For the listener, it’s an opportunity to relax, engage, and feel cared for. Most of all, it’s a way to connect, person to person, through the joy of storytelling.

At RTC Services, we’re proud to celebrate these everyday moments of kindness and friendship. Sometimes the smallest activities, like reading to a friend, can make the biggest difference in someone’s day.

Spooky fun in the Studio!

The Studio, led by Quinten James, has been getting into the Halloween spirit with a creative pottery project that’s equal parts spooky and sweet! Over the past few weeks, the group has been busy molding, baking, painting, and perfecting their very own ceramic ghosts.

Some of the ghosts are cheerful and full of personality, while others have a delightfully spooky flair, but every single one is a beautiful work of art. This project has been a wonderful way to welcome the fall season with creativity, laughter, and a little ghostly charm!

Star of the Month – Eric Leese

RTC Services is proud to celebrate Eric Leese as our Star of the Month!

Eric is a true friend to everyone he meets. Each day, he brings warmth, laughter, and kindness to those around him. Whether he’s offering a helping hand, sharing words of encouragement, or cracking a joke at just the right moment, Eric’s positive spirit never fails to brighten the room.

He has a special way of noticing when someone might be feeling down, and he always goes out of his way to lift their spirits; with a smile, a kind word, or a little humor that turns a tough moment into a lighter one.

Eric also makes new friends feel welcome and included from the moment they arrive. His caring spirit reminds us all how important friendship and kindness truly are.

And of course, we can’t forget Eric’s wonderful sense of humor! His playful spirit and love of laughter bring joy to our days and remind us that RTC Services is not just a program, it’s a community where friendships and smiles matter just as much as hard work.

Thank you, Eric, for sharing your joy, laughter, and heart with all of us. You make RTC a brighter, happier place every single day!
